wedoist – The Basecamp Alternative

For quite some time I used Basecamp to manage my projects. But I always thought that it is a bit expensive for what it provides or lets say, for what I need. But now I found an alternative for Basecamp called wedoist.

wedoist interface

Wedoist is a very simple project management tool to organize and delegate tasks. It is developed by the creators of todoist, a personal todo-management tool. Currently wedoist provides just basic project management features like:

  • Task managment
  • Multiple user management
  • Settings for tasks like delegate to a person, due date, comments
  • Group chat
  • Status updates of team members etc.

And even more: You can setup as many projects as you want for free. But if you pay 5 Dollar per month and project you get the feature to upload files and to apply them to single tasks and you are able to modify the interface style. Thats why wedoist is a Basecamp alternative for me.

Very simple, very effective. If you want to try wedoist, simply check it out here.

  1. Another great basecamp alternative is Project Bubble, which has a simple user interface and does invoicing too: http://projectbubble.com

  2. Thank you Stu, I will have a look at your project.

  3. There’s a huge list of alternatives to Basecamp, and the one your business will need is entirely dependent on your businesses dynamic needs.

That being said, if you need to manage projects, it’s likely you sell a product or service. Managing those areas of business is well is an eventual step you will probably take and that’s why WORKetc can help take a short cut here.

It combines CRM, project management, and billing so it’s technically a complete business management application.

    Worth checking out. http://www.worketc.com

First, Basecamp’s navigation is retarded given their reputation. Unfortunate, as they have great tools, if one could flipping find them. Example: to set a milestone, it’s buried under the Calender Tab and then it’s buried under the Events link. What???? Your task’s don’t go to the calendar, you have to enter twice? Retarded. And to upload a file to a task you have to make a comment to that task, again, WHAT? So my comment is “here is the file for this task”? Anyway.

Why is there no phone number or email for whodoist. I am liking the solution, yet, if they won’t list contact info. Customer Service is very questionable.
